California Association of Orthodontists

Keeping the specialty of orthodontics strong in California.

How it all began…

Founded in 1967, the California Association of Orthodontists represents over 1,000 specialists in orthodontics who practice in California.  CAO members must also be members in good standing of the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists (PCSO), a constituent society of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO).  Originally established as the California State Society of Orthodontists, the society changed its name to CAO in 1997.

Membership:

Members must have successfully completed their orthodontic education from an American Dental Association approved school.  Applications for membership in CAO are handled by the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists.
