Corticision – A Minimally Invasive Procedure to Accelerate Tooth Movement Dr. Young-Guk Park The usual rate of tooth movement by conventional protocols of mechanotherapy is approximately 1 mm/month. The ‘corticision’ method signifies a minimally invasive peri-orthodontic procedure, without flap elevation, which accelerates tooth movement with enhanced turnover rate of surrounding structures. This procedure is clinically expedient with a sound biologic foundation, renders more stable orthodontic outcomes and is less prone to complications than traditional approaches. This lecture will present evidence that minor surgical procedures by orthodontists can achieve accelerated rates of tooth movement with impunity. It will introduce a novel system that enhances the rate of bone and periodontal response, thereby shortening the duration of treatment. Meeting Registration Fees:
